The Woodlands is 2021’s #1 Best City to Live

For the first time ever, The Woodlands has been ranked as the #1 Best City to Live in the U.S. on Niche’s 2021 list! Having been consistently ranked high in the list of best cities in America, it’s nice to see our tight-knit community getting the recognition it deserves at the number one spot!

Our master planned community was specifically designed with beauty in mind. Rather than clearing land in order to build, developer George Mitchell made sure that many of the area’s wonderful trees stayed untouched. Instead, the community was built around and among the trees, preserving the natural beauty of the landscaping, and resulting in a more desirable place to live.

Along with the dense greenery you’ll experience in a drive throughout the town, there are also hundreds of hiking and biking trails that span for miles and miles, making it easy to get around on foot. For the more outdoorsy types, there are several green spaces and nature preserves that offer more opportunity for exploration. Bring a paddle board or kayak out on Lake Woodlands, or visit the George Mitchell Nature Preserve to explore over 1,700 acres of untouched forest.

Over the last few decades we’ve seen the Woodlands shopping and entertainment options continue to grow and expand, with new places popping up all the time. Some of the most beloved destinations include Market Street, known for its boutiques, designer stores, upscale restaurants and cinema that is located just steps from the waterway. Hughes Landing is a newer addition, featuring Restaurant Row- with nearly ten fine dining establishments, all located along a pier overlooking beautiful Lake Woodlands. Perhaps you’re in the mood for some live music, check out who’s playing at the Pavillion and enjoy a show out on the lawn!

Of course, The Woodlands has received some rave reviews…

“Most peaceful place to live and work.”

“It is an ideal place for a family with children, with good schools and plenty of activities for them to do without having to go into Houston.”

“Friendly people, beautiful homes, amazing schools, lots of places to go.”

According to Niche’s ranking categories, the Woodlands received an A+ overall, with public schools, family friendliness, and jobs all scoring an A+ ; outdoor activities, housing, and diversity scoring an A- ; Niche gave an A for health and fitness ; a B+ for nightlife and weather; a B for commuting; and a B- for cost of living, according to this local article

It’s no secret that we love this community. After all, there is no shortage of things to do, and there is truly something for everyone. Come join us, we’d love to have you!
