What Do Goats, Yoga, and Water Parks Have in Common?

We’ve done our research on the top things to do in the month of May in the Tomball/Magnolia/Woodlands area of North Houston. Pick your favorite activities or better yet, try something new, and explore what our great community has to offer!

1. The Gulf Coast Blues Association puts on a Blues Music Festival each year featuring top national and local acts. Be ready this May 11 at the VFW on Alice Road in Tomball for a full day of fun and music. Tickets range from $25 – $45 and can be purchased in advance, as prices will be higher at the gate. Musical performances begin at 1pm and the lineup includes Malford Milligan, Buddy Whittington, Kara Grainger and many others. The headline act is Tab Benoit. 2. You’ve probably heard of Yoga, and maybe even Laughing Yoga. But, have you ever heard of Goat Yoga? Yes, as in doing yoga with goats. Be adventurous and come try Goat Yoga during the Health, Wellness & Fitness Expo at The Woodlands Market Street on May 18. Practice your poses as baby goats frolic about and join in your workout. You may even do a downward-facing dog with a goat on your back! 3. It’s got a new name, but the fun is the same! Wet ‘n Wild Splashtown is now Six Flags Hurricane Harbor Splashtown. Come check out this Texas-sized water park with fun for all ages. Opening weekend was May 4, and the park is open Friday-Sunday between now and Memorial Day, then open daily for the rest of the summer. Discounts on season passes and upgraded packages, as well as plans that include admission to Fiesta Texas in San Antonio, are now available. Check out the newest thrill rides, including the 55-foot high waterslides and seven-story pipeline slides. Plus, fun for little ones in Coconut Bay and the family Tree House.
